After My Partner And I Have Sex, He Gets Rashes

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Apr 2019
Question: after my partner and i have sex, he gets rashes on his penis the next day. His penis gets all red and flaky. his scrotum gets rashes as well. He said there is no discharge or smell. or it doesn't sting either.

I've notice when we have sex for the first time that night, i got all this white lumpy discharge. But the second time we have sex nothing. My vagina was sore or itchy. There was no smell at all. Do i have an infection that is causing him to rash up? What can i do about this?

i am on a contraceptive pill.

Brief Answer:
It could be Candida

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is a usual experience that during first intercourse, there maybe irritated skin and even UTI. From your description, it seems to be Candida. It is not worrisome but it does spread/exacerbate sexually.

You can use Barrier contraceptive (condom) to prevent this from flaring up next time. Drink lots of clean water to prevent UTI. Can apply thick cream like Penaten to bring down the redness.

I will suggest that you both get tested for sexually transmitted disease (to be on safe side). A pap smear would also be needed for you.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Need to find cause with a pap-smear

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Yes Penaten is available over the counter. Or try coconut oil. It can also soothe down the skin. Same for him also.

Candida (or any other infection) can be confirmed with pap-smear. Until then no need to take any pill as it may irritate the skin further. Use a condom until the cause is found and treated. Make sure to drink cleaner water.

Brief Answer:
What were cervical screen test results?

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I need the reports of the cervical screen. Anyways followup test will clarify things further. It is possible that either you passed it to him or he is having allergy to something. Candida can also be transmitted sexually, so its not surprising. And it will get better with use of condom.
