Brief Answer:
type of procedure depends upon type and severity of varicose veins.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query thoroughly.

* As per my surgical experience, the management of varicose veins ( leaky leg valves )
depends upon many parameters as
severity of the dilated veins ( perforater incompetency in doppler report )
current symptoms
age and other health related conditions
concern of yours and consultant regarding the situation

* Depending upon above factors, consultant decides to go for various options available
to control the condition which can be
sclerotherapy
laser therapy
endovenous ablation
endoscopic vein surgery
ambulatory phlebectomy
stripping and ligation of varicose veins

* As there is mentioning of ablation procedure in your history, kindly provide me further
details so that I can answer your query more precisely.

1. When was the ablation procedure done ?
2. What are the current symptoms ?
3. If available, latest doppler report (after the ablation procedure) will help great if
provided in follow up conversation.

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
endoscopic surgery of incompetent veins cures in many cases.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the relevant details.

* In case of deep vein incompetence and varicose veins, once the ulcer healing is
achieved the curative role of endoscopic surgery has to be evaluated via doppler study of
incompetent levels (though there are still some chances of reappearance after the
procedure in highly equipped centers as well ).

* Control of blood sugar, body weight, and postural adaptations are of immense
importance in this case.

* If you can share a photo picture of current ulcer and visible veins of the lower limb, I may get back to you with a bit more specific pieces of information. You can simply upload/attach the pictures at the 'Reports section' of this web page only

Thanks
