Brief Answer:
Hi,

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Thanks for your query

In my opinion, in this case a thorough hand wash at least for one minute is advised. However, if swelling, redness or pain is there at the site of open sore, then you are advised to take a course of antibiotic as well as anti-inflammatory drugs under guidance of your doctor.
Still, there seems no risk of any STD transmission by just a casual touch of the bin, even with open sore. Still, it is advisable to get this open sore treated to avoid any infection of any type in future.
Thanks.
