Question: can you explain my results to me?

Answered by Dr. Shinas Hussain (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
We have to rule out conditions like thyroiditis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through your reports and I can ultrasound your concerns,
The given report is an assessment of your thyroid status.
In the given report the thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO) is on the higher side. The presence of TPO antibodies in your blood suggests that the cause of thyroid disease is an autoimmune disorder, such as Hashimoto's disease or Graves' disease.
Few more investigations required to confirm the diagnosis and plan further treatment. You have to go for an ultrasound and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) as further assessment.
Consult an endocrinologist and he will direct you accordingly.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks

I do have hidradenitis suppurativa which is considered an auto immune disease. Although I asked my HS community and no one has had my issue. I've looked up the symptoms of hasimotos and Graves and don't appear to have any of those symptoms. the only reason I decided I needed a blood test is because I have not felt hunger in 3 weeks. I went a whole week without eating just expecting to wake up starving but it's not happening. have you ever heard of that? I unfortunately could not afford health insurance so I haven't been able to see a Dr but will if I have to. what could happen if I don't go to get this treated? no other symptoms have shown up.

Brief Answer:
If you are asymptomatic no treatment is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hidradenitis suppurativa is not an autoimmune condition.
If you are not symptomatic don’t worry about the thyroid and no definite treatment is required now.
You can repeat the test after three months and plan treatment accordingly.
Loss of appetite may not be related to your thyroid dysfunction.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
