Cannot Discern Between Whether I Have Angular Cheilitis Or A

Question: cannot discern between whether i have angular cheilitis or a cold sore. I had the same affliction this time 2 years ago. My lips have been dry and for the past few days I have felt a tingling/burning sensation in the area and noticed dry flakey skin at the location but today it rapidly escalated
Brief Answer:
Looks like angular stomatitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the photos.
The lesion looks like angular stomatitis. Angular stomatitis almost always appear on the angle of mouth where the cold sores appears on lips and inside mouth and cold sores are more painful.
As a first line management you can apply over the counter oral steroid creams like triamcinolone for symptomatic relief. Include more fruits and vegetables because low intake of vitamins and antioxidants can cause flare up of disease.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Antibiotics may be started.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Swollen lymph nodes indicates infection or inflammation in the nearby( draining) area. There may be superadded infection which is causing swollen lymph nodes.
A short course of antibiotics preferably amoxclav(amoxicillin/clavulanate combination) can be started for five days. Nothing much to worry and the lymph node will resolve once the infection settles.
Thanks
