Brief Answer:
hello

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor.
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.
Have gone through attached reports

1) Well patient has achalasia cardia disorder caused due to inability of lower esophageal sphincter to relax in response to a food bolus eaten due to which the food pipe (esophagus dilates)
2) prognosis depends on how the esophagus reduces in size and gains its motility after surgery as in this case it looks like a large sigmoid esophagus which is suggestive of a very broadened esophagus whose peristaltic movement may revert slowly and partially. overall 85 t0 90 % symptoms relief at 2 yrs once responded to surgery.
3) reports suggest patient has achalasia with markedly dilated food pipe which was operated and the tight muscle of lower esophagus was loosened to facilitate the food emptying in esophagus and this adequacy of surgery was checked by endoscopy too during surgery.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish him a speedy recovery
Happy to help.
