Brief Answer:
Regarding hair loss with accutane

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.

Yes, hair loss is a side effect of accutane but it usually happens at higher doses like 60 mg per day and with prolonged therapy. It is reversible (in 6-12 months after stopping accutane) and usually not a troublesome side effect. Moreover, not everyone has it. The dose used in acne i.e 20mg or 40mg per day rarely causes hair loss in some patients. You may use an anti hair fall serum to counter it but this is rarely indicated. There might be other reasons for hair loss apart from accutane which could be responsible and this is usually the case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
