Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
I would gladly be of assistance to you. I carefully went through your query and would like to know more about your symptoms. Please let me know of the following:
- for how long have you had dry skin in the genital area?
- do you have scales or redness, what exactly are you experiencing?
- do you have itchiness or pain in the area?
- any other complaints like urinary burning or frequency, fever, low abdominal pain?
- have you used any chemicals locally or razor recently?
- have you tried anything to help with the symptoms, any effect?
Please copy and paste the above questions to the reply and answer underneath each of them. If you can upload a picture or two of the area with the skin problem would be very helpful.
Waiting to hear from you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the detailed information on the questions above.
Is there a specific reason you are anxious about? Are you worried that the lesions might something serious? What specifically worries you? Can you describe the pimples to me? How many do you get and do you have them at the moment? Do they itch or hurt? How long do they last when they come out? Do you think you are at risk for sexually transmitted disease (unprotected intercourse)?
The dry scales are generally a sign of a fungal infection or local irritation (kind of eczema). You may try to use local betamethasone twice a day (thin layer) and over it apply miconazole cream (twice a day) for 7-10 days. You will need to combine both, please do not use betamethasone cream without the antifungal because it might make the fungal infection worse.
Meanwhile make sure you use cotton underwear and make sure you avoid any contact locally with any chemical, even soaps.
If you notice no improvement in 4-5 days or you notice any worsening it is advisable to see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
