Fatty liver, scarred kidneys
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
As per the ultrasound scan report, there are two issues.
One affecting the liver and the other affecting the kidneys.
The liver is affected by a condition called fatty liver. There is fat deposit in the liver. It is usually associated with obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol and alcohol intake. Most often it is harmless and will resolve when the underlying cause is treated. Sometimes it may progress to cause hepatitis and then to cirrhosis.
Liver function test may be done to see if it is a simple fatty liver or fatty liver with damage to liver cells (steatohepatitis).
Both the kidneys are scarred in the mid part. There are many different causes like high blood pressure, diabetes, infection, certain drugs etc. It may cause kidney failure. To see whether the kidneys are functioning well, blood urea and serum creatinine tests may be done.
Regards,
Dr.R.K
