Brief Answer:
Herpes is unlikely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Herpes is unlikely. Most probably it will be folliculitis due to infection of the hair follicles.
You can go for a pus culture and sensitivity of the discharge and start antibiotics according to the culture reports. Most cases respond well to antibiotics. You can apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin after cleaning with soap and water.
It will be better to attach a picture in the follow up query.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pus culture is actually used to identify the possible pathogen and to chose appropriate antibiotics.
Folliculitis is a clinical diagnosis and the treating doctor will arrive in the diagnosis by clinical examination.
It will be better if you attach a picture in the follow up query.
Hope I have answered your query.
