MY doctor has put me on a caffeine pill (Butalbital/Acetaminophen). I'm not big on taking pills so I will maybe take it once a day if I'm feeling bad.

This past weekend I had absolutely no energy. Felt like I almost had a knot in the back of my head where the base of my skull meets my spine.

Brief Answer:
You need to use medication if headache is very bad...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Migraine and other chronic headache are simple condition; but it cause difficult symptoms to patients. It affects sleep and quality of life. And lack of sleep inturn has various effects including lack of energy and the weakness. The lower back ache may either be due to the same lack of proper sleep or due to other independent condition.
Similarly the ear pain may or may not be related to the same.

Migraine and chronic headache can be managed by life style and home remedies. However most often they are unresponsive to simple remedies especially when they are as bad as the one you described. It's necessary to medicate with painkillers. You should consider taking prescription drugs as instructed by the doctor. And if the headaches are too frequent or daily, you should seek a neurologist and start preventive treatment.

I hope I have addressed your concern. If there is / are anything specific you wish to ask, let me know in the follow up.

Regards
