Brief Answer:
It may be due to a chronic inflammatory condition requiring further testing

Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

Ferritin level can be elevated in several conditions but usually it is caused by infections, inflammation and malignancies.
It can also be increased in alcohol abuse and thyroid dysfunction.

As the tests for any liver disease and congenital defects (Haemochromatosis/Porphyrias) are negative and if you have not been on too much of iron supplements,it most likely points towards some chronic inflammatory condition.
Diagnosis of these, may require additional and advance testing based on your symptomatology and findings of physical examination.
Please visit your clinician for further and complete evaluation.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
