![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: hai I have a pain in my left arm since last few days
Brief Answer:
I need more information.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. Arm pain can have many different causes, including musculoskeletal, from nerves, blood vessels, and others. Can you tell me a little bit more about the pain that you have been having? Is it constant or does it come and go? How severe is it? Does certain activities make it worse? Where in the arm is the pain the worst? Did the pain start gradually or all of a sudden?
Once I know more about your pain, hopefully, I can help you further. I look forward to your response.

Brief Answer:
You have a slight deficiency in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D
Detailed Answer:
Hello again. Your results indicate that you have a slight deficiency in vitamin D, assuming that the vitamin D3 test that they did was a total vitamin D test, as it usually is. This is relatively common, and no further workup needs to be done. It is usually treated with supplemental vitamin D3 1000 IU every day for 3 months, and then the levels are checked again.
You also have a slight vitamin B12 deficiency. I would recommend you talk with your doctor about trying to figure out the cause of this. Often it is caused by a disease called pernicious anemia, which interferes with your absorption of vitamin B12. A blood test can check for this. The treatment is usually intramuscular shots of vitamin B12 until your levels are back to normal.
I hope that makes sense, please let me know if you have any questions about that or anything else you are concerned about.
