Brief Answer:
Can you please provide more details of the lump?

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Welcome to Ask a Doctor Service.

Could you please tell me a few more things about this lump you have in the neck?

1. Since when do you have this lump?

2. Where is this located?

3. Is the size increasing or decreasing since you noticed it?

4. What happens to the lump when you swallow anything?

5. How does it feel to touch?

6. Is there nay discharge from the lump?

7. Do you have any other illness at all? Like cough since many days, fever (mostly in the evenings), excessive sweating in the night?

8. Have you lost significant weight in the last 6 months.

9. How is your appetite?

10. Does the lump hurt? (on its own and on touching?)

11. Can you move the lump with your fingers from side to side or up and down?

12. Is the lump localised and has definite margins or is it diffuse?

I hope you can understand from these above questions that a direct examination by a surgeon is essential.

So, I suggest you to visit a surgeon in your area and get yourself looked at.

You can also write back to me with answers to all the questions and I will try and guide you to the best of my ability.

Warm regards
