Hello, I Had Spinal Fusion For Schumann's Kyphosis About Two

Question: hello, I had spinal fusion for Schumann's kyphosis about two years ago, and ever since I had the surgery, i get soreness in my stomach and right sided chest discomfort when I walk. I've had terrible acid reflux, and I can only walk about 15-20 minutes before I feel exhausted. a gasterodoctior has me on omperozol 80 mg for two weeks to see if acid reflux is the cause. I've had elvated blood pressure for three years. bp average is 130/87 I'm 6 FT and weigh 228 pounds. I am 25 years old what could be causing this gut and chest discomfort? I feel the symptoms worse when I move/ exersicse and better at rest, although I still feel them at rest. spinal fusion was a posterior release t6- low fusion with rods and screws

Brief Answer:
Pain could be neuralgic too.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your detailed symptoms. Based on that, GERD seems to be the main reason for your symptoms.
In addition, we should also explore a neuralgic pain. Sometimes, the nerves arising from spine may get pinched, and it can lead to pain over chest or abdomen. However, we arrive at this diagnosis after a detailed gastroenterology and pulmonology evaluations have been done to exclude primary problems in lungs or abdomen.
An MRI of spine can help in evaluating the area of interest to see the severity and extent of nerve pinching, if any. In terms of medications, pregabalin capsules can help.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,

If this were to be nerve pinching, can it be reversed? Or am I stuck? Also I had ct of abdomen done and it was normal except for constipation.
Brief Answer:
Mild nerve pinching can be reversed.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
Mild nerve pinching can be reversed with exercises and physiotherapy. Only severe cases become chronic and remain symptomatic for a long time. However, based on your symptoms, it does not seem to be a case of severe nerve pinching, even if it were nerve pinching.
Good to know that your CT abdomen was normal.
