Question: hello doc, I'm 58 years old...past 6 months I'm getting repeated boils in the eye..the boil is painful..please suggest medication and the reason for the repeated boils...pic has been attached..kindly check the image attached

I think something went wrong with the picture, couldn’t see the attached picture.
Boil or a stye is the infection or inflammation of the eyelid margin involving hair follicles of the eyelashes or the oil secreting glands of lids.
If there is repeated infections, possible causes like uncontrolled diabetes and poor personal hygiene like rubbing eyes with untidy hands.
As a first line management you can wash the eyes with clean soap and water and apply warm compression. If it is painful you can take analgesics like ibuprofen. Over the counter available ophthalmic antibiotics like tobramycin can be applied and most cases respond well to antibiotics. In severe cases excision of the swelling if it large or epilation may be required.
