Question: hello doc, my baby is 8months old..she is on breastfeeding..we have planned tonsure function on dec 5..I might get periods on that date..can I use primolut for postponing the periods..is it safe for baby during breastfeeding

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

Any medication is used only if absolutely necessary during pregnancy and lactation. Since you are in need of postponement of your cycle, you can use the medication but avoid feeding times.

Please make sure you consume the pill soon after a feed to allow sufficient time, at least three hours, before the next feed. This will reduce the amount of drug secreted into the breast milk.
