Hello Doctor! I Am Writing Because My 11 Month Old
Question: hello doctor! I am writing because my 11 month old baby girl. She had fever at 38.5 centigrade and I gave her tachipirine suppost, but after 4 hours the fever tend to raise again and is about 38.1 centigrade. should I give again paracetamol or I have to wait until it is 6 hours? I have another question for the older girl. she is about 6 years old and had chicken pox. now she is in the phase of disappearing the spots, can I give her a bath? Thank you

Whether taking by mouth or by rectum, the dose is the same, which is 10-15 mg per kilogram per dose, given every 4 to 6 hours, with the maximum amount per day being 75 mg per kilogram (if you normally use pounds, you can get kilograms by dividing pounds by 2.2), and you should only give 5 doses in one day. So for an 11 month old, they usually weigh around 8 kilograms (or 17 pounds), so the typical dose would be 80 to 120 mg. If the dose you gave was within this range, it would be safe to give another dose after 4 hours.
For your older girl, yes, it would be completely safe to go ahead and give her a bath.

Thank you doctor! after 4 hou ra and a half the fever went 38.5 centigrade and I gave her paracetamol syrup 5 ml. The problem is that after 2.5 hours it has begun raising. If it goes higher than 38.5 what should I do? The pediatrian told me not to give Nurofen but to use only paracetamol because of the high risk of toxins. But If the gever raises too high I can't wait the allowed 4 hours distance please give me an advice and thank you
I forgot to write that my baby is 11 month and weights 9.5 kg. I gave her 5 ml of paracetamol. Maybe I should raise the dossage?

So if it goes higher than 38.5, do not worry, it will not harm your baby.
If the paracetamol you are giving has a concentration of 160mg/5mL, then you are giving the maximum dose (a little bit more than the maximum dose but it's close enough), so I would not raise the dosage.

hello again doctor and sorry to bother, the syrup is concentrated about 120 mg / 5 ml. and by rectal I give her 125 mg and I have given her once syrup and two other times by rectal way. how should I proceed? her fever continues to stay mild at about 38 centigrade.
