Question: hello doctor! I am writing because of my 5 years old girl. two weeks before she got chicken pox and the doctor gave her the anti virus medicine and she got better. After two weeks she went at the kindergarten and they called me telling that her neck hurts and she does not move it. o took her at the doctor (orthoped) and he told that it may be a complication of chicken pox, gave me ibrufen and told that would pass after 4 days maybe. now she tells me that it seems to her that she feel like something like needle in her eyes. Should I worry? Should I take her to the pediatrian? may it be a dangerous complication of chicken pox? Thank you

Brief Answer:
I don't think it is related to chicken pox

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on Ask A Doctor platform

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
I don't think that neck pain or irritation in eye is related to chicken pox.
Chicken pox symptoms or complications are common in initial 10 days of eruption of rashes.I don't find any reason for worrying.
Still as she is complaining of stinging/irritation in eyes I would request you to consult an eye specialist.
This complain may be due to dryness of eyes or some foreign material.
You can try washing her eyes with cold water to see if there is any improvement.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
