Question: hello doctor, My mom is 57 and she is diabetic she facing too much of tingling sensation in her both hands which causes numbness for a while. It's causing her lot of discomfort as its coming on regular intervals. Her one more issue is that she had fallen and has left knee ligament tear which we gotta know after a MRI. So we had consulted a doctor and he had prescribed some medication. He also told her to see him after a month which couldn't happen due to lock down. Now she also facing discomfort as she is not able to sit down and fold her left leg. I have attached below the report of the scan and prescription of the doctor. Please suggest something that will make her feel little better till the lock down eases.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Due to Diabetes the nerves in the hands and feet get affected and that causes the tingling and numbness.
She can take Tablet Neurobion Forte twice a day for 1 month. Also Capsule Gabapentin 300mg can be taken once a day on Day 1, twice a day on Day 2 and thrice a day on Day 3 and continue thrice a day for another 3 days.

Since she has tear of one of the important ligaments in the knee, it will be very painful to bend the knee. I suggest she be in knee brace and not bend it till an operation if her Doctor has suggested one. She will need ligament reconstruction.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
