Question: hello i have i want to know the point of view of another doctor. because some doctors dont agree.
does dry needling help you recover faster after ankle ligament reconstruction surgery compared to the normal physio therapy exercises?
is it safe enough for the ligaments?
how long after surgery should it be started?
and if so, why is doed it help you tecover faster?

According to recent literature, dry needling along with proprioceptive exercises are the best method of physical therapy for ankle instability.
It can be started after 6 weeks of surgery. It has not reported to cause any major adverse events to the ankle function. It stimulates the peroneal muscles to increase their resting tone which provides additional stability to the ankle ligament strength.
