Management of lichen planus pigmentosus
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney , a dermatologist.
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Lichen planus pigmentosus is a chronic and very resistant disorder of the skin.
I would recommend you to apply potent topical steroid like mometasone cream on the affected areas in the morning and tacrolimus 0.1 percent ointment on the affected area once daily at bedtime.
Also apply a broad spectrum sunscreen on the entire face during the day time.
For itching take antihistaminic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily along with capsule isotretinoin 10 mg once daily.
Since lichen planus pigmentosus is a chronic condition, these medicines need to be taken for a prolonged period but under the supervision of the doctor.
Also avoid direct sun exposure and use of too many cosmetics on face and neck.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
Go for sunscreen, moisturizing cream, cleanser
Detailed Answer:
In Lichen planus pigmentosus the treatment of choice is steroids.
If you want to avoid steroid and tacrolimus ointment you should go for frequent use of sunscreen during day time and hypoallergenic moisturizing cream frequently on the entire face.
This will help in healing you burns.
Also use some mild cleanser for washing your face.
