Question: hi Doc, my mother nose nerve got cut and lost heavy blood. what could be the reason . she have htn and thyroid .

Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. The reason for your mother nasal bleed is increased blood pressure or hypertension. Adults and aged people may bleed profusely due to hypertension. There are two types of bleed, anterior and posterior bleeding. People with hypertension generally bleed posteriorly. Posterior bleed is profuse in nature. Whenever she start bleeding from nose, make her sit and lean forward and pich the nose. Give cold ice pack over the nose. Monitor her blood pressure. Consult a physician and give proper antihypertensive medication. Apply nasoclear nose drop thrice daily. Take tablet tranexamic acid tablet twice daily for 3 days. If it doesn't resolve with this, then her nose may need packing with merocel. Please review of you have any queries.

You can give the medications as prescribed before. The blood loss will be generated by the body within few weeks. Give proper oral diet and fluid. Can visit a hospital if symptoms of dehydration are persistent.
