Question: hi, I started a (mostly) vegetarian diet at the middle of april. I was 98kgs Im now 89kgs. Im just wondering if this is normal to loose nearly 10 kgs in about 2 months? I do no exercise as I have a few health conditions (syringimyelia, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, etc) swapped margarine for nuttlex, dairy milk for plant milk, vegan salad dressing, I have oats in the morning with fruit, swapped rice for quinoa, eat chickpeas, mushrooms, and salads and smoothies. I still eat a normal dinner at home. (fish and veg for example). Its the first time Ive been able to loose any weight since having my son in 2013. Before having him I was 73kgs. Diabeties is in my family and I had a glucose test done last year and my sugars were high after two hours. thank you.

Brief Answer:
Yes, it's generally acceptable

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir,
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns.

Firstly, please note that the vegetarian diet is assumed to lead to weight loss.

However, I would recommend that you get a blood test for HbA1c level to check on blood glucose level in the last three months and another blood test for thyroid hormonal profile including T3, T4, and TSH to exclude hyperthyroidism.

I hope you find this helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
