Question: hi I’m 21 years old I go to college and work part time . I’ve had sleep paralysis here and there I think it is due to stress but I’m not sure I want to know if I should check it out or if it’s normal
Brief Answer:
You can have a better sleep.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think that you had sleep paralysis because you were working too much, being sleep deprived or having naps here and there.
You may need to lower stress , don't take naps , sleep at the same time each, don't sleep on your back.
If it still persists you may visit a specialist.
Hope I have answered the question.

Okay also I have another question I noticed that it takes me a min to let air come out when I breathe in and out like the out part takes me a min sometimes . Is that cause I’m too stressed out?? Or it’s another reasoning? And okay I will try to follow your advice about my sleep. Because I did notice that I get the sleep paralysis when I started college
Brief Answer:
Stress can be a reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
If you have difficulty breathing out you may need to do a spirometry to test the lungs function.
It is obvious that you are stressed.
You can try to avoid coffee, energy drinks, don't take naps and try to avoid stress as much as possible.
I believe that stress can be a cause for your sleep paralysis.
