Hi, I’m A 19 Year Old Woman And I’m Currently

Question: hi, I’m a 19 year old woman and I’m currently experiencing terrible period cramps. i started my period yesterday afternoon and i typically experience cramping for the first 2-3 days, typically at a pain level where i need to be constantly medicated with extra strength advil to function normally. Today, I took one extra strength (400mg) advil when i woke up at 10, and then another at 4 when the first wore off. Around 10, I started to experience a terrible anxiety attack as my cramps suddenly resurfaced- anxiety is strongly related to stomach pain for me. I took another extra strength advil, and it’s been 50 minutes, and my stomach is still cramping furiously. I’ve also had 2 ativan for the anxiety, though I’m still shaking and flushed with heat. Should I try a different medication, like tylenol, to relieve my stomach cramps? I can’t imagine being able to sleep like this. More likely I’d go to the nearest hospital to try and get more help.

Brief Answer:
Wait for some more minutes and take ponstan.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you don't have to take Tylenol because Advil you took is stronger than Tylenol so you will not have any benefit from taking it.

You can use ponstan , mefenamic acid, because it is known to work best on menstrual cramps.

Taking count that you took Advil and now two Ativan tablets you can wait for another 20-30 minutes till they start working.
Use warm compresses on abdomen.
If you still don't feel better take mefenamic acid and if nothing seems to work you can go to nearest hospital.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
