Brief Answer:
It's a usual infection in infants
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor
I can understand your concern but I strongly recommend you to not worry because in infants mycoplasma infection (pneumonia or tonsillitis) is one of the most common and usual findings.
Usually it doesn't cause any problems in the future it is completely curable.
In our practice of every day encounter such infection.Probably the first time it was another bacteria and this time mycoplasma. In my opinion it's safe for him to be in hospital. He will ldo some blood tests and antibiotics such as Claritromicin intravenous for one week and other supplements (liquids vitamins ecc)
No worries he will be good soon.
Hope to have been helpful

Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Hepatitis b is not related to mycoplasma itself.
Usually if the titre of hep b is high than probably another dose is needed
However you should trust her doctor
