The cause for inability to swallow should be known.
He should be examined clinically by a Physician/Gastroenterologist.Even lesions over the Tongue can lead to this condition.
If there is no cause found in clinical examination,he should be investigated
I prefer an Upper GI endoscopy to see the Upper Gut.
Cause can be identified in majority of the cases.
Please consult a Physician or Gastroenterologist and proceed further.
