Question: hi doctor, my brother is sufferjng with dengue fever from past two days. he is 34yrs old. His platelet count has decreased from 1,60000 to 60,000. fever and body pains are not reducing and very weak. pls advise how the platelet count can be increased soon?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice .

In allopathy the only method suggested to platelet infusion when platelets are below 20,000/cumm.
In ayurveda there is mention of juice of XXXXXXX papaya leaves to be taken fresh.

Mostly the platelet count recovers by itself. Check it daily. Avoid pain killers especially aspirin.

hi doctor. thank you. he is taking papaya fruit and leaf tablet. still it has decreased. will it increase it by itself in 2days or should we consult any other doctor and admit in hospital?

Hi again

Dengue is a viral infection and recovers by itself. Most of cases of dengue will recover. Only a few become worse. Currently he does not need to be admitted to hospital unless he has some bleeding somewhere in body especially in abdomen or his platelets become lesser than 40k. Switching doctors will not help much.

Instead of papaya tablet, please take fresh juice of papaya leaves.
