Brief Answer:
Compared with regular menstrual flow, implantation bleeding can be seen ear

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Ask A Doctor. Thanks for the query.
I can understand your concern.
The general differences between regular periods and implantation bleeding are:
Regular periods:
- Occurs due to shedding of endometrium, which is the inner layer of the uterus.
-Usually expected after 28 to 30 days of last menstrual period. Sometimes after 21 to 35 days, depends on previous menstrual cycles.
-Last for 4 to 5 days usually. Sometimes 2 to 7 days.
-Blood flow will be around 80 ml, may alter in quantity sometimes.
-Associated pain can be seen sometimes.

Implantation bleeding:
-Occurs when fertilized ovum attaches and embeds in the endometrium.
-May not be seen in all pregnancies.
-Usually occurs from 7th to 14th day after unprotected intercourse, means around the 20th day to 28th day of the menstrual cycle.
-Comparatively less in quantity, may present as spotting. Lasts for few days compared with menstrual flow.
-May or may not be associated with pain.
- Blood test for pregnancy after two weeks of unprotected intercourse can confirm the possibility of pregnancy.

According to your history, if XXXXXXX 15th was your first day of menstrual period, there was intercourse on the 9th day of your menstrual cycle. Usually in case of regular 28 to 30 day menstrual cycles, ovulation is expected between 13th to the 18th day of menstrual cycle, in that case, the possibility of pregnancy is comparatively less in your case.

Hope I have answered your query. Will be happy to answer further followup queries.
