Hi I Am 66 Yrs Treated For Hep C In
Hepatitis C, not able to pass bowels
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome here, I have read your question.
You have a history of suffering from Hepatitis C many years back. Presently, you are not being able to pass bowels for a couple of days and that's making you uncomfortable.
You were on marijuana and have stopped since a couple of days. Yes, you are having withdrawal symptoms, but endure, do not get restless.
Withdrawal symptom of marijuana does cause digestive issues, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, dehydration, hypovolemic shock, irritability & mood swings, etc.
Presently, you are suggested to reduce stress ( both physical & emotional), relax. Since you haven't been able to eat, take food good for the liver ( like cranberries, blueberries, pear, grapes, papaya, sugarcane juice, nuts, small fish, etc) to boost up your appetite and detox your liver.
Take home made fresh food & take adequate water to flush out the toxin within. You can also take liver tonics. Do regular walking & exercises, stay active.
Destress & take quality sleep, at least 8 hrs at night. Once your appetite returns your bowels will move, no worries.
Prefer to take boiled food initially over oily spicy food. Take fresh veggies, fruits & well cooked cereal. You can take lean meat, avoid red meat for a couple of days.
Take small portion of food multiple times a day. Try not to take weed but withdrawal should be gradual, be gentle with yourself. Reduce weed intake slowly & not all of a sudden as it may cause other symptoms also.
If your stomach hurts, you can take (spasmoproxyvon), one stat when required. Taking proton pump inhibitors may also give relieve, but take only one when needed. Do not get addicted to medicines.
Take natural antioxidants and stay relaxed. Hope I have answered your question, take care.

Hello, Markatfrontier.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, welcome to ask a doctor services. I have read your query.
It is very nice to know that you are feeling better. No, you should not experiment with something new that you have not taken. Just keep tapering the intake & watch how your body responds.
If you are comfortable & withdrawal symptoms are not severe, give your body time to relax and gradually reduce the intake in the next 2-3 days.
In case you get symptoms that are difficult to deal with, just rest & give a little more time for your system to absorb the withdrawal symptoms.
Continue to gradually withdraw till your body adjusts without weed & is comfortable.
There is no solid data on exactly how long it will take the brain receptors to recover, it varies from individual to individual.
It commonly takes 2-4 days for the brain receptors to return to normal after you have stopped taking the weed but the receptors commonly take 4-6 weeks to regain normal functioning after stoppage of weed intake.
Hope I have answered your question. Never lose hope, stay cheerful. You will successfully detox, just be patient with yourself. Take care.
