Hi, I Had A Potential Exposure To Hiv ( Unprotected

You are almost free from HIV infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
Thanks for posting your query.
Two types of HIV Tests are available broadly.
1. Antibody detecting tests -They will become reactive after the window period -That is, the body will take some time to produce antibodies against any diseases. The window period for HIV infection is around 4-8 weeks.
2. Antigen detecting test - will detect the infection as early as within a week after the exposure in the presence of an infection and considered more conclusive 3-4 weeks after the exposure.
In your case, I will not give much importance to the DUO test done on the 20th day after the exposure.
HIV RNA PCR 65th day is very much reliable. But you had tested for a quantitative test (useful in assessing the prognosis, rather than diagnosis). DNA PCR and RNA qualitative PCR are more valuable for diagnosis. Anyhow the result came as < 20 copies is very much favorable that you are very much unlikely to have HIV 1 infection.
The HIV 4th generation test done on the 75th day after the exposure is very much confirmatory and conclusive. They are reliable up to 99% as it ruled out both HIV 1 and 2 infection.
One more test (Rapid or 4th generation test) 12 weeks after the exposure will be recommended to have a 100% conclusive result (especially for HIV 2 infection, as HIV 1 is already ruled out) which is a very rare possibility.

great relief
the tests were done for both Hiv 1 & 2
but the rna pcr resulted "target not detected" for hiv 2
but fir hiv 1 a log value 1.3 is the result and in report interpreted as " hiv rna detected but under the range od assay"
this makes me anxious and worried .. i have attached the rna pcr results
Your 4th generation HIV Combo test is highly reliable.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Not to worry.
HIV RNA PCR quantitative results will be expressed like this only even in the absence of infection.
Because of that only, I told this test has not much value for diagnosis. It is a test to assess the prognosis of the disease. But your 4th generation HIV Combo test is highly reliable and conclusive. The nonreactive test after 10 weeks almost ruled out both HIV 1&2.

The report after 12 weeks ensures 100% conclusive
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I am not able to see your test report.
I will be more happy if you have one more test after 12 weeks after the exposure.

Reports can not be verified.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I went through the reports. I am not able to see the name and date in any of the reports (The doctor before giving opinion he has to verify the same as per our guidelines). With this I should not extend any opinion on these.
Anyhow I will say these words.
It seems that you had seen HIV 2 RT PCR also and it came as Target not detected... but without any date.
Once again resend with dates if you want more from me.
