Question: hi i just swallowed a metal peice while having beer i mean the pop tab on the top of the beer can so should i be concerned

Hi,

Could you please let me know what is the size of the metal object that you have swallowed?

As per your description, the pop tab on the top of the beer can will be approximately 1inch long. It passes easily from the anus.

Please take plenty of liquids. Observe the stool daily. I also add laxative containing Lactulose for soft stool.

You can take an X-ray abdomen in erect posture now. If it has not passed even after 3 days, take another x-ray abdomen. You can see the course of the metal object.

I have noticed a 2inch metal object coming from Anus in one patient who swallowed it accidentally.
So, nothing to worry.
It should come out.
