Detailed Answer:
Hello,
hunger depends mostly on how your body is used to function and caloric intake. Certain types of food may bring more satiety than others. This usually occurs with food with a high fat content. There are many ways to approach dietary restrictions, so there is no right or wrong - it's the outcome that counts.
Regarding your question about diabetes though, things are clear. You do not have diabetes at this time but you may develop diabetes in the future. Since your father had diabetes and you're overweight, you're in risk of having diabetes in the future. Your glucosylated hemoglobin is absolutely normal - which rules out diabetes in the present time - but your high fasting blood glucose levels may be a sign that your body is starting to struggle to keep it within normal limits (but still managing to do so in most cases).
What you should try to do is this: loose as much weight as you can in order to achieve a healthy body weight and exercise regularly. You should try to exercise every day but every other day is OK as well. Just be warned that "weekend warriors" do not experience substantial benefits regarding their diabetes and may suffer more injuries.
Check with your doctor whether there are other factors that may have come into play or not - like thyroid disease for example which may worsen blood sugar control and may also make weight loss more difficult.
I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Kind Regards!
