Brief Answer:
Yes you should be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Generally, blood coming from higher levels (stomach and small bowel) converts into a dark coal black colour due to the changes the blood has in the bowel. It is the bleeding from lower parts (colon) that will show as bright red blood. So in your case seems that lower gut is involved.
Have you ever had a colonoscopy done?
I would recommend you to have a colonoscopy every 5-10 years.
Even if you have had this test in the last 5 years it might be recommended to repeat it as you are having this bleeding.
A CBC would be a good test to be done if you suspect bleeding to see if you are developing anaemia as a complication of bleeding and need treatment for it or not.
Thirdly get a proctoscopic examination of rectal canal done to rule out possibility of hemorrhoids or fissures.
Hope i was helpful.
Follow ups are welcome.
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again'
"I had no pain either"-Pain is not present in internal hemorrhoids.
Low iron can be very likely related to bleeding problems.
An issue with lower gut can cause anemia because of continuous loss of blood from small bleeding points.
Yes, excess alcohol could be a cause of bleeding.
Hope I was helpful.
Follow-ups are welcome
