2. so should i continue avoiding carbohydrates completely
3. also after walking vigourosly my sugar level rises 20-30 points from 97 to 120 or 124 (fasting)is this ok as after some time it subsides when i check pre lunch . it is around 105-108
4. also at night i have to get up frequently for urination though my sugar levels are normal in last three months . May and XXXXXXX July. some days i get up once or wice but sometimes it is almost every one and half hour . Even yesterday my readings were 97fasting 105 pre lunch 150 post lunch and 115 pre dinner and 153 post dinner which i presume is ok . but still yesterday night i had to get up 3 times in a 6 hr sleep cycle.

Detailed answers given below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Skk36,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
It's good that you had contolled your blood sugar levels with life style changes only.
I would answer your queries oneby one.
1) Wheat & rice are carbohydrates with high glycemic index . They get digested &absorbed fast &so rise blood sugar more.
Actually digestion of sugar depends on fibrous content of food .we eat refined(polished/grinded & seived or strained )rice or wheat which has comparitively increased glycemic index .So when you eat these your blood sugar rises fast & high
Use of unpolished or organic rice &whole wheat would not increase it that much.
Diabetic friendly low glycemic index food does not cause rise in blood sugar level as they are digested slowly(due to high fibre content)
2)Your lowered blood sugar suggests that you are prediabetic (that is your insulin is insufficient)&it is belived that. if you continue the same food intake &exercises over a longer time... there can be reversal of insulin insufficiency.(as it was caused by increased stress on insulin secreting glands)&you may escape from getting diabetes.
So you should continue with the regieme for a couple of years at the most but be on guard to confirm normality of blood sugar periodically.
3.)Walking vigerously you need more energy which is provided by liver by realising more glucose in blood stream. In case there is insulin insufficiency to digest this increased blood-sugar, your sugar would increase after immediately stopping the exercise...it mostly returns to normal over the time.
4) Frequency of urination in diabetes , is due to increased blood sugar to start with...but long standing controlled diabetes can cause kidney damage to give the symptom.(though it is a newly detected,it may be there over some time)
-Frequency of urination can be there due to sleeplessness/bladder problems, infection/premature prostate enlargement.
All these causes need to be evaluated with your family physician's advise &treated as per need.
I hope to have answered all of your queries .Any more information you want please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Needful investigations to be advised by expert as per need.

Detailed Answer:
Hi skk36,
Thank you for the follow up query.
Urgency&frequency of urination can be due to infection, irritation or pressure on urinary bladder by affected surrounding organs(eg. prostate )
To evaluate&define the cause .. it it needs to be physically examinedby an expert to judge the probable cause.&then investigations would be advised to confirm it.
It can be investigated by routine and microscopic examinationof urine, followed by culture test if needful/X-ray, MRI or CT scan of the region & also pelvic region./IVP for complete evaluation of urinary tract/ physical examination for enlarged prostate (PR)., endoscopic examination of bladder if needful & any other test advised after physical examination by a Urologist
please consult a specialist for exact needful advise for investigations for you.
I hope you got the point.please ask if you need any more information .
Thanks.

Some friend of mine said it might be due to constipation also. I do not have regular bowels because of my irregular timings. So if this is the case what should I do. Because my blood sugar is normal for the last two three months. Even today morning it was normal 90 on fasting.pls suggest what medicine I should take to solve this problem
Thanks for all your answers so far

Brief Answer:
Yes...it can happen.Management suggested.

Detailed Answer:
Hi skk36,,
Thanks for the query.
Constipation can cause pressure on bladder by full rectum& gases with hard stools. It also affects power of pelvic muscle which help on forceful urination .The pressure caused on bladder can result in incomplete evacuation of bladder leading to repeated urge to urinate.
In such condition you can start with mild laxative like Duphalac suspension/cremaffin liquid 1-4 spoons with warm water at bed time daily( dose adjusted according to result gained)..till the bottle finishes.By the time changes in life style like eating more fibers, drinking at least 10-12 glasses of water daily&a regular schedule of walk &abdominal exercises would help you to get rid of your problem.
In case there is burning or pain in urination or ,fever..you would need to get treatment for urinary complaints too.
I hope that suffices.Any more query is still welcome.
Thanks.
