Hi There Last Night I Developed Kind Of Stinging, Burning
Question: hi there
last night i developed kind of stinging, burning pain on a patch of skin on both inner upper shins of my legs. its in the same spot on both sides.. below the knee... its tender to touch both spots. not swollen at all and maybe a very faint redness in the spots.
any idea what that could be? seems odd that its on the same spot on both sides!
thanks

Brief Answer:
Seems not a serious condition.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query and here is my advice.
These symptoms arise mainly because of peripheral nerves dysfunction.
Since there was only one episode, these tender spots may have been compressed for a long period during sleep resulting this way in your symptoms.
So. I think that you should be not worried about, these symptoms should subside within a couple of days.
If these symptoms persist longer than a couple of days, an evaluation by your Doctor is necessary to consider conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, nerves compression, etc.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
