Brief Answer:
Yes, you can add tramadol for severe pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. Yes, you can take the Tramadol 50mg along with the Tylenol. Paracetamol and tramadol combinations exist, usually in the doses such as [(Tablet Ultracet) paracetamol 325 mg + tramadol 37.5 mg] and [(Tablet Ultracet Semi) paracetamol 162.5 mg + tramadol 18.75 mg].

2. Two tablets of 50 mg in a day 12 hours apart should suffice. Take both these tablets (tylenol and tramadol) after meals. The Tynelol can be regular 325 mg or extra strength 500mg. Kindy check the strength of the Tylenol tablets that you have.

3. If you have taken this tablet earlier for back injury without any side effects, it should be fine.

4. If nausea or dizziness occurs, reduce the dose of tramadol to half.

5. Avoid taking this combination for more than 3 to 5 days. Get your ear and throat examined by a local ENT Specialist. Other supportive medication can then be added.

6. An OTC (Over The Counter) medicated gargle (oral rinse) and steam inhalation through the nose and mouth will help. Keep yourself well hydrated.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

i ahould add i do not take Xanax regularly and only very occassionally (less than one time every few months) to manage occassional severe anxiety episodes. i never take the full .5mg pill. usually only 1/4 to 1/2 a tab. i took. .17mg (1/3 tab) at 10:42 pm (4 hours ago) just to try to hekp me sleep with this pain and because i had not heard back ftom anyone at your site regarding using the tramadol. i am in such excruciatig pain that is not adequately relieved by Tylenol. i will not be taking any additional Xsnax. am i ok to start the tramedol now?

Brief Answer:
Yes, you can rotate these medications, but only short term.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for following up.

1. Yes, you can rotate these medications, but only for a short term of 2 to 3 days.

2. You can add brufen 400 mg two or three times a day after meals for 2-3 days.

3. In such cases, patients are also offered intravenous pain relief and also must understand that these medications only mask the pain/ inflammation but do not treat the underlying pain source/ condition.

4. Hence, if the pain is so severe, kindly seek medical attention.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
