I Get Pain Every Now And Then In The Left

several possible causes, it may or may not be related to Pancreatitis alone...
Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concerns...
Well, these set of symptoms may or may not be related to Pancreatitis. It can even be related to referred pain from other pathologies (i.e. Kidney and urogenital problems). In order to confirm the diagnosis, further investigations i.e. Amylase, Lipase, FBS, PPBS, LFT, KFT, along with clinical check-ups should be done...
You have mentioned regarding an abdominal scan...Did you mean CT scan? If it's done recently, I'd request you to kindly upload the reports here so that I can review it as it can certainly point out towards the possible pathologies...
You can simply upload/attach them to the 'Report section' on the right side of this web page...
Let me know if I can assist you further...

Kind Regards

ive read about chronic pancituis and it says it can come and go

please see the detailed answer below...
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,
Well, it's good to know all blood works and the abdominal scan was clear...However, it seems like an ongoing complaint for quite a while...
No, even if it's chronic pancreatitis, the pain abdomen can be pretty severe, and there is always some sort of other accompanying features (like nausea, vomiting, indigestion, skin discolouration over the abdomen, swelling and several others)...Moreover, if the blood investigation reports are also ok then it may not be related to the pancreas...
However, please note that these are non-specific symptoms (means the similar complaints can be seen in several other conditions)...
As you mentioned the investigations were done last year, so in my opinion, a fresh set of blood investigations and a USG abdomen should be done at present to look into it further...Along with it, a clinical check-up by a Gastroenterologist would be helpful in pointing out the possible diagnosis.
Let me know if I can assist you further...

this is exactly why I'm suggesting the investigations to be repeated...
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back,
I can certainly understand your concern...
This description is pointing towards more of a functional gastric/bowel related or kidney-stone related issues. However, we can only assume from the given set of symptoms, but the gravity of the situation and exact diagnosis can only be obtained after those thorough set of investigations along with clinical check-up.
It's definitely a relief to know the investigations were ok during the previous time a year ago...I do concur with you on the seriousness part, but something which is bothering for so long should be investigated and examined thoroughly (by a Gastroenterologist preferably), a firm diagnosis will not only be assuring but also will be beneficial towards a specific management.
Hopefully, everything would come out to be fine this time also, but in order to get a confirmed diagnosis, it's recommended to have those set of investigations done along with a repeat abdominal scan as already discussed.

Kind Regards
