Question: i got a cold sore and wasnt even outside i take 2 1000 lysine a day very suceptable to cold sores in sunshine can you suggest something they last aweek

For an episode of cold sores (Herpes labialis, HSV type 1 infection) I would advice you to take tablet valacyclovir 500mg, twice daily for 5 days. If you get cold sores frequently the best way forward is to take an antiviral prophylaxis i.e tablet valacyclovir 500mg once a day for at least 6 to 12 months.
