Dr. Branch thank you for your help im not sure this is a worm it just feels like that because of the way it moves. it kinda stays in one spot but searches for a way inside my scalp it seems that the end of it is like a very fine fiberous string and another part has a serrated flat part that digs in. the location of this is around the out side of my ear on the right side is there any possibility that this is part of a gland that has somehow come out of my scalp and is trying to get back in ? i just dont know what it is. it is flat with one side sharp and slicing into my skin and the other side seems crusty and exposed and its very painful to try and touch or move.

Brief Answer:
Any way to take a picture of it?

Detailed Answer:
Is there any way you could take a picture of it? A worm like this would be very unusual, so I suspect that it is not a worm, but if you could take a picture of it, that would help to be able to figure out what it is.
