follow the advice...observe how you stay afterwards...
Detailed Answer:
Hello there,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concerns...
As of now, for symptomatic relief, I'd suggest the following:
-Start doing Chlorhexidine gargle twice daily and lukewarm saline gargle twice daily in an alternate fashion...avoid going to any overcrowded places for the time being, if at all you need to visit, then use a face mask.
-Take some steam inhalation twice to thrice daily, it'll help to ease the associated symptoms to some extent and clear the secretions/drainage (if any)...
-Avoid any form of cold-drinks, dairy products and sour foods as they can further aggravate this situation...
-Please drink a lot of fluids. Have plenty of warm liquids (soups, broth, porridge etc.), they'll act as an immunity booster and fasten the recovery.
-Instead of Aspirin, I'd recommend using ACETAMINOPHEN (Tylenol) for the time being after some food...
-Ensure thorough handwashing with antibacterial handwash before and after handling any mucus, secretions, phlegm...
The patchy white tongue may or may not be related to this (it could also be due to some fungal infections namely oral candidiasis). At first, along with all those above-mentioned remedies, do ensure to brush the tongue gently with a soft bristles toothbrush, avoid any form of smoking(if at all do).
Despite following this if there's no significant improvement within a day or two, then you should get it checked up by your physician as there may be a need to start combination antibiotics therapy along with antifungals (based on the clinical findings)...
Let me know if I can assist you further...
Wish you a good health...
Take Care
Kind Regards
