Question: i have an infected cut on my foot and over the past day my foot has hurt more and is swelling up the cut also is creating pus

* As per my surgical experience, infected cut on foot with pain and pus
discharge indicate cellulitis with possible abscess formation at the local
part.
I would quote following for better recovery of the wound
- Thorough wound cleaning with antiseptic liquid 2 times a day.
- Application of sterile dressing with application of polymycin cream and
sterile bandage.
- Foot elevation over 3 pillows when resting which will help in swelling
reduction.
- Anti inflammatory medicine as ibuprofen ( 400 mg ) 3 times a day after
meals if no history of drug sensitivity.
- Prescription of antibiotic as cephalosporin or else as per the evaluation by
your doc for control of current infection best way.
- Keep blood sugar under control.
- Avoid tight fitting foot wear or walking barefoot, instead use soft slippers.
