Brief Answer:
Please provide some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.

From your description it is not clear if the pain is in the skin, or in the joint?
Do you see anything on the skin in that area? Like rash or pain when you touch that area?
Or is the pain only when you move the arm and try to pick up something? That means that in rest you feel nothing?
Do you practice any sport or have you been doing anything specific with that arm like a repetitive movement?
Have you used any medicines?
Since how long do you have this complaint?

Please provide as much relevant information as possible. Only in that way I will be able to advice accurately.

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Kind regards, Dr. Klarida Papaqako, General and Family physician.

Brief Answer:
Possible muscle/ joint/ tendon inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up question.

What you are describing seems like a problem in the joint/muscle/tendon. For all these 3 possible causes I would suggest the same approach:
- Use Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hours for 2 weeks. Use it only if you are not allergic or any other contraindications. It will help reduce the pain and inflammation.
- Apply a local analgesic cream to top up the anti inflammatory effect. 3-4 times per day.
- Apply a combination of ice and heat pads every 5 minutes for 30 min twice per day.
- Consider seeing a physical therapist to localize if the pain comes from the muscle, joint or the tendons in that area and advice specific exercises.
- Be XXXXXXX but avoid movements with that arm that are painful. It needs to rest.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards, Dr. Klarida Papaqako, General and Family physician.
