Posted on Thu, 8 Aug 2019
Question: i started having abdominal pain (mild) and lower back pain (moderate) about 10 days ago, they alternated between each other. No blood was detected in my urinal analysis, but calcium oxalate crystals were. Blood exam seems all good. I don’t smoke, I did ct scan and i got a questionable circumference thickening of the urinary bladder. No surrounding fat stranding, no lymph enlargement, no acute osseous found. What are potential diseases that follows what I mention here?

Brief Answer:
Thickening of bladder wall suggests inflammation of Bladder

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted thickening of bladder wall that as been revealed on CT scan ,This is a routine findings whenever there is inflammation of bladder which in its tern may be due to infection(Cystitis),mass lesion in bladder, chronic bladder outlet obstruction.

In absence of any alarming symptoms like burning urination, hematuria (blood in urine ), Painful urination etc it is nothing to be worried about it .
Consult qualified Urologist for clinical assessment he may do endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy) to establish precise cause for thickening of bladder wall .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for clarifying. I dont feel any pain during urination. My GP prescribed me a medicine called sulfamethoxazole-TMP and will be treating as an infection, and will follow up in 3 months.
My back it hasn’t hurt, but searching on google got me a little paranoid.
Should I follow up with an urologist on my own, or wait for results?

Consult qualified Urologist not Google

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Do not surf on Google It will confuse You more rather than resolving your doubts.

You may continue taking medicines prescribed by your family physician or consult Qualified Urologist to get peace of mind at earliest .
