If I Have Crohns Disease, Is The Pain Constant? I

Question: if i have Crohns disease, is the pain constant? I had an episode of excruciating pain 4.5 days ago where my whole gut felt like it was being twisted with concentration of pain in lower right abdomen , extreme gas/ bloating. I started a strong anti-biotic Thursday evening (Xifaxan). Some bloating and pain has subsided but i have a concentration of pain in the lower right abdomen. Anything i ingest causes bloating. No vomiting, no diarrhea, some constipation. I also feel dizzy but i did take my first Prilosec 24 hrs ago. Is there constant pain with Crohns or do I need to get my appendix checked?
Brief Answer:
Need to get a CT abdomen done to check appendix.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns,
I would suggest you to get an ultasound or if possible a CT scan abdomen done to rule out problem with appendix as pain is localised on right side.
It could be inflammation of intestines also as gas etc is also there but it's a minor issue however ruling out appendix problem should be the first priority.

Thank you for your advise but is it possible to get an answer to the question? Can one have constant lower right abdominal pain from Crohns or other intestinal diseases?
Brief Answer:
Follow up.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
No pain is usually not constant in Crohn's disease bit yes in other conditions like diverticulitis or enteritis(inflammation) of intestine it could be continuous but again tests are required to rule out the cause.
Thanks
