Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

This is a well known fact that watching too much of TV has an adverse effect on brain and is linked to cognitive decline and decrease in verbal abilities and memory.

Further, clinical studies have proved that too much stimulation (includes prolonged TV watching) has a negative impact on the recovery and rehabilitation of stroke.
It may also be associated with weight gain, obesity, mental changes, venous stasis, hyper coagulability and DVT which poses an increased risk of recurrent stroke, heart attack and sudden death.

Hence TV watching should be restricted to less than 3 hours a day(preferably 2 hrs) in patients recovering from stroke.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
Post stroke patients need to relearn and readjust with the help of psychological and physical rehabilitation.
Psychosocial well-being is heavily affected following stroke.
Depression, anxiety, panic attacks, general psychological distress, suicidal ideation and social isolation are quite common.
Kindly visit a clinical psychologist for further evaluation.

Happy living.
Warm regards.
