Question: ive had hemorrhoids for many years. i had one that bothered me so i had it banded about 10-12 years ago.
i also have chronic back issues and i take meds that constipat me. i passed a hard stool that took some effort and discomfort and i had some blood in the toilet bowl and on the toilet paper.
This morning i had some more blood but much less. im guessing i caused some damage to my hemorrhoids when passing the hard stool.
is this common with hemorrhoids?
whats the best way to get it healed?
thanks

Brief Answer:
It sounds like hemorrhoids

Detailed Answer:
Hi Adqews,

It sounds like textbook hemorrhoids. The most important thing is to keep your stools soft by drinking plenty of fluids and eating lots of fibre. Try a laxative to begin with. If it doesn't help you should see a colorectal surgeon for possibly another round of banding.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
