July 2019,I Had An Upper Respiratory, Didn't Take Anything. Cold

Question: july 2019,I had an upper respiratory, didn't take anything. cold /flu got better but I lost taste and smell.
I still cannot smell nor taste. In the past week, I now have a problem with my throat where it feel likes there is something in my throat. I do have phlegm which is constantly in throat.I feel that I am "trying to pull it out"
Have never experienced this before.I do not now if the loss of taste and smell has anything to do with this

Brief Answer:
It can be a sinus infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Upper respiratory tract infection especially viral infection can cause inflammatory sinus damage and can cause anosmia( loss of smell) and subsequent loss of taste.
If you experience stuffiness of nose you can try over the counter nasal decongestants like xylometazoline for symptomatic relief. Do steam inhalation to open up clogged sinuses and to revert the smell sensation.
Generally the symptoms will improve with time.
If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. Additional investigations like CT head and sinuses as well as nasopharyngoscopy may be required.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
