Please note that this could be due to a number of causes including hypothyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, untreated connective tissue disorders (systemic Lubus or rheumatoid arthritis), infection or even malignancy...

This is why I would recommend that you get a blood test for thyroid hormonal profile (T3.T4 and TSH) and parathyroid hormone together with a blood test to measure the level of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and C reactive protein...
